Manent

Manent is the history engraved in what we are. An Aglianico from Sannio DOP, a red wine with a complex aroma of berries, plums, licorice, and black pepper. Its enveloping taste lingers on the palate, a majestic effigy of the vines from which it originates. What remains, what has always been.

Aglianico Sannio Dop

Variety: Aglianico 100%
Production area: Colline Guardiesi
Altitude: 400/450 m above sea level
Soil type: Clayey-calcareous, rich in skeleton
Plants per hectare: 3500/4000 plants/ha
Year of planting: 2003
Trellising and pruning system: Simple horizontal espalier with Guyot pruning
Yield per hectare: 60 q/ha
Harvest period: 3rd decade of October
Harvesting: Manual, in crates at the phenolic ripening of the grapes.
Winemaking: After careful sorting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed and subjected to fermentation in stainless steel wine vats thermo-conditioned. Once the alcoholic fermentation has started, daily pumping over begins to facilitate extraction from the skin of the color and primary aromas of the grape. At the end of fermentation, maceration with submerged cap follows: a very important phase because, in addition to extending the extraction period from the skins, it facilitates color stabilization. This is followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels of second and third passage.
Aging: 4/6 months in barrels of second passage, followed by aging in the bottle for an additional 8 months.
Organoleptic characteristics: Red color, complex aroma of berries, plums, licorice, and black pepper. A enveloping taste with soft and silky tannins.
